The StreamShop Team

The StreamShop works with a wide network of contract Broadcast professionals all across the country.

But your first point of contact will most likely be with Helen and Dan.

Helen Wrightson -
Executive Producer

Helen is known for keeping complex projects — and people — moving in the right direction, combining sharp attention to detail with a calm, good‑humoured leadership style.

With a background spanning advertising, sales, marketing, and senior management, she brings rigour, structure, and a creative spark to everything she leads.

She cares deeply about doing the fundamentals well: building genuine relationships with clients, creating trust through openness and clarity, and using strong systems and planning to ensure work is delivered properly every time.

For Helen, the best creative outcomes are always grounded in respect, shared vision, and doing what you say you’ll do.

Daniel Wrightson -
Creative Director

Daniel is known for his instinctive storytelling ability and his rare talent for putting people at ease — whether directing on location, interviewing behind the scenes, or shaping ideas from the ground up.

Raised in advertising and music television, and recognizable as one of New Zealand’s most familiar broadcast voices, he brings extensive media and marketing expertise, thousands of hours of Live Directing experience and an effortless conversational style to every project.

He’s passionate about doing the story justice: creating space for honesty, connection, and authenticity, and engaging audiences through work that feels real, human, and thoughtfully crafted. And likes to have fun doing it!

Our Vision

We like to think we do Live a little differently at The StreamShop.

We’ve spent years developing cost-effective quality production systems that deliver fantastic content crafted by great people and empowered by technology.

What sets us apart?

Experience, creativity, cost-effectiveness and care for quality are the pillars we build our business on.

When you break it down here are the ingredients that make The StreamShop different.

Broadcast DNA

We evolved in live sport and television — environments where timing, clarity, and pressure matter. That discipline shapes everything we do.

Human‑led storytelling

In a world of AI‑generated content, we double down on what’s real. Our broadcasts feel intentional, emotional, and unmistakably human. Because that’s who makes them.

Multi‑camera experience and creative vision

Whether it’s a leadership announcement, a national tournament, or a live music session, we design every production as a show — not a screen share.

Calm under pressure

Live means live. We’re experienced, composed, and ready for anything. When the stakes rise, we get sharper.

A full content ecosystem

From live broadcasts to bespoke content crafted by The Content Studio, we support the entire lifecycle of every story — before, during, and after the moment.

More than a tech supplier

We’re your broadcast partner. We help shape the message, design the look and feel, and deliver every experience with confidence.

FAQs

A small compendium of useful information to help you choose The StreamShop for your next production

The StreamShop produces broadcast‑quality live content for leaders, teams, fans, and communities.
We specialise in Leadership Live broadcasts, Live Sport, Live Music & Events, Video Podcasts, and bespoke content through The Content Studio.

We’re not a tech supplier — we’re a broadcast partner.
Our team comes from live sport and television, so we bring multi‑camera storytelling, professional lighting and sound, graphics, coaching, and calm under pressure to every production.

A livestream looks professional when it is intentionally produced, not just technically functional.

Professional livestreams combine:

  • Multiple camera angles that guide viewer attention
  • Clean, consistent audio (the single most important factor)
  • Thoughtful camera placement and framing
  • Live vision mixing rather than static shots
  • Lighting control suited to the venue
  • Active technical management throughout the event

Poor livestreams often fail not because of bad cameras, but because there is no one shaping the story in real time. Professional production focuses on how the viewer experiences the event, not just whether it is technically online.

A professional livestream feels effortless to watch — even though a lot is happening behind the scenes.

This matters most when:

  • Viewers are remote and relying entirely on the stream
  • The event runs for more than a few minutes
  • Engagement and retention are important

With AI‑generated content everywhere, live content has become the most trusted, human, and high‑value format.
Live events are unscripted, emotional, communal, and impossible to fake — which is why audiences engage more deeply with them.

The Content Studio is our “not live” storytelling team.
We create case studies, testimonials, interviews, product stories, educational content, and event coverage — all crafted with authenticity by humans in a world full of AI‑generated noise.

Yes — our production systems are portable, scalable, and deployable anywhere in New Zealand.

We work with a wide network of Professional Contractors all over the country to support local and also reduce travel costs whenever possible.

Professional livestreaming in New Zealand typically costs between $3,500 and $10,000+, depending on production quality, crew size, and how much risk needs to be managed.

Pricing is influenced by:

  • Number of cameras (single vs multicamera)
  • Audio complexity (presenters, panels, audience mics)
  • Crew experience and size
  • Internet connectivity and backup systems
  • Event length, rehearsals, and setup time
  • Graphics, recording, and postevent deliverables

Lowercost livestreams usually prioritise simplicity and have limited redundancy. Higherend livestreams invest in multiple cameras, professional sound, live vision mixing, and technical failsafes to reduce the risk of failure.

DIY livestreaming is cheaper. Professional livestreaming is designed to protect your brand, audience experience, and stakeholders when things go wrong.

This matters most when:

  • The event cannot be repeated
  • Sponsors, clients, or the public are watching
  • The livestream represents your organisation or brand
